Our People

Matthew is the Director of the UK Maths Trust, a British charity that aims to advance the education of young people in mathematics, primarily through running challenging competitions. 

Prior to that he was a civil servant in the Department for Education for eight years, working in a variety of programme management and regulatory oversight roles, latterly as part of the office of the South West Regional Director. Matthew has also been a primary school governor, an independent visitor to children in care, and a residential fellow at a large boarding school.
